The week that was – highlights

It has been a reasonably quiet week for Wiley and I. For the first time in ages I didn’t catch a bus or taxi anywhere during the week.

The only talk I had this week was the usual taxi training session. As Monday was a public holiday I went in on Tuesday. I was lucky and got a lift there and back so no public transport needed.

Most of the week was spent at my parents, Wiley did some great guiding work walking me to the local shops. It was really nice having everything I needed within walking distance and not having to hang around for buses.

Next week is shaping up to be a busier one. I have a speech to finish writing for an event next Tuesday. It might generate media interest so I want to make sure I am word perfect as I’d hate to mess up in front of reporters. It is for something that I think is really important so I want to get the message across as clear and meaningfully as possible.

I am also spending a lot of my time considering my living arrangements.  I would like to move out of my place so Wiley doesn’t have to go up and down a flight of stairs several times a day. The only problem is I can’t really afford anything that would work better that what I already have.

Ideally I want something all on one level, with a small garden, separate title, near a lovely area for Wiley’s recreational walks and close to shops or public transport with a regular bus service.

I could possibly move out to Goulburn, but then I don’t like the idea of moving further away from my family. The vet has told me carpeted stairs shouldn’t be too much of a problem as long as Wiley doesn’t rush up or down them and I keep him nice and lean but it isn’t ideal – giving me a bit of a dilemma.
