Pets in carriers to be allowed on ACTION buses?

The other day I got an email about some new policies being considered by ACTION buses. One includes permitting pets, confined to carriers, on Canberra’s buses. Here is a link to the policy and a survey so people can express their view on the new policies. http://timetotalk.act.gov.au/consultations/?engagement=have-your-say-on-the-carriage-of-goods-on-action-buses . Comments close on the 5th December.

I am fortunate Wiley is a non reactive dog – I don’t think the presence of pets (confined to a carrier) on a bus would be an issue for us. Having said that I’d prefer some distance was kept between Wiley and a pet. If he came nose to nose with another animal then I’d expect him to become distracted. Although knowing Wiley a well timed treat or two would probably keep his focus on me!

I encourage everyone who has an opinion on this matter to complete the survey by the 5th December.
