Over the last week or so we have had an afternoon storm roll in most days. Thankfully they have bought some much needed rain with them, along with the thunder and lightning. Wiley isn’t at all bothered by storms, he either sleeps through them or we play an indoor game such as hide and seek.
I love the feel and sound of a storm, often I will stand out on my balcony just to soak up all the sensations. For me the only down side to a storm is that I can’t use my computer.
The fact they were afternoon storms meant we didn’t miss out on our morning bush walks. The paths have been a little soggy but not too slippery, the feel and smell of eucalyptus after rain is absolutely beautiful.
All the forecasts say we are in for a scorching summer – I am not looking forward to that one bit. On Wednesday I am having celling fans installed in my lounge and bedroom. I hope that will make things are little more comfortable for Wiley and I on the really hot days. I also want to buy Wiley a paddling pool for the balcony. I am not sure he will use it but it will be nice for him to have the option to get wet to help him cool down.
Last week had a distinctly Christmas theme -lots of shopping and festive social engagements. I have finished buying all my presents and ingredients for Christmas baking. I still need to purchase some wrapping paper which I hope to do later this week. Next week will be reserved for making shortbread, peanut brittle and fudge.
Along with the Christmas fun I also headed into work on Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was International Day for People with a Disability. I plan to write a separate post on that later.
Thursday was an office day, trying to get JAWS working with the remote server as well as drafting letters as part of my admin role. I am also starting to make progress on some of the projects I am working on. As the wonderful Jo was also in the office she walked me through some of the admin tasks that I still need to learn. It was a very productive and enjoyable day,
